Abstrak
Background: Health education is one of the efforts to achieve optimal health status for mothers and children. To achieve this, various comprehensive and targeted health care efforts have been carried out, starting from preparation for pregnancy to maternal and under-five care. This community service activity aims to increase women's knowledge of reproductive health and child health, where women are prepared as educators in the family.
Methods: The method used in this service activity is in the form of counseling on maternal and child health to mothers and health cadres in Gunung Lingkas Village. The targets in this activity are cadres and mothers who have toddlers. Results: The problem faced by mothers and cadres at this time is the lack of knowledge about maternal and child health caused by the Covid-19 pandemic which limits mothers from exchanging information due to the temporary suspension of posyandu activities. This activity was attended by 16 cadres and 35 mothers with toddlers aged 2 months to 4 years.
Conclusion: Community service activities carried out by lecturers of the Midwifery Department of the University of Borneo Tarakan are expected to increase knowledge about maternal and child health for residents of Gunung Lingkas Village.
